Purifying the Mind: A Path to Liberation

with Ven. Thubten Dekyong

Join us for a profound exploration of purification — one of the most powerful and transformative practices in the Buddhist path. Through clear and accessible teachings, Ven. Tsering Yanzo will guide us in understanding how to cleanse negative karma, remove inner obscurations, and open the heart to greater clarity, compassion, and freedom.

In Buddhism, purification is not merely a ritual — it is a deep inner process of healing and renewal. All beings accumulate negative karma through harmful actions, words, and thoughts, which create obscurations that cloud the mind and obstruct the path to liberation. Through purification practice, we apply the four opponent powers — sincere regret, refuge and compassion, the antidote practice, and the resolve not to repeat — to actively dissolve these imprints and restore the natural purity of the mind.

Whether through the recitation of mantras, prostrations, confession, or meditation, purification practice brings lightness, peace, and renewed energy to our spiritual journey. It is a gift we give to ourselves and all beings.
