Geshema Namdol Phuntsok, resident teacher at Kopan Nunnery and one of the first Tibetan nuns to achieve the Geshe degree—personally awarded by His Holiness the Dalai Lama—guided us through this teaching.
She led us through the Buddha’s foundational wisdom, the Four Noble Truths, and offered a brief explanation of Lama Tsongkhapa’s renowned text, The Foundation of All Good Qualities.
These teachings revealed the essence of the Buddhist path and showed us how to live a truly meaningful life, grounded in compassion, wisdom, and inner peace.
Born in Phenpo, Tibet, Geshema Namdol Phuntsok was ordained at the age of 9 and later joined Kopan Nunnery in Nepal. After years of rigorous study of the five great philosophical texts and tantric training at Gyuto Tantric College, she became one of the first nuns to receive the Geshema degree. She has served as chant master for 24 years and continues to teach Buddhist philosophy at Kopan Nunnery.
